features of emachines kernel

which special kernelfeatures has the emachines kernel on the livecd 2004.0? i ask this because i own an acer aspire 1500 and i have some problems with it, and it looks like that they have similar hardware installed.
is there perhaps a possibilty that i get the w-lan chip from broadcom (4306/2050) working during instalation.
are there some other issues with this notebook that i should know before installing, kernel options to pass during boot etc? is it possible to bring up my ati 9600 including 3D with xfree 4.4? lot of information please.
