|
|
Hi,
I noticed that in the last couple weeks (I'm guessing that it's when I emerged emacs 21.3-r2), the buffer menu popup in emacs fails to work properly. I press ctrl-mousebtn-1 down, and a buffer menu pops up. Fine. Then when I select a new buffer, nothing happens. The same thing happens with the 'msb' minor mode, which presents a different, customizable menu with the same mouse interface. A simmilar operation, changing fonts with Shift-mousebtn-1, works as expected. But all the Ctrl-mousebtn operations (button 1, 2, or 3) fail to work.
If I run different versions of emacs remotely through my X server, they work fine. So I don't think it's X, I think it's emacs.
Is this a known bug in this emacs release? Are there any solutions out there yet?
Thanks!

*bump*
Can anyone who uses emacs confirm or deny this behavior? I have two computers running gentoo and they both have this problem (one running KDE 3.2.1 and the other xfce). Just try starting emacs with a file, and see if you can go to the scratch buffer using the popup menu with crtl-mouse-1. I don't see anything else about this problem on the web.
Thanks,

I also have the problem that the mouse buffer menu doesn't work. It pops up but is doesn;t switch buffers.
I use GNU Emacs 21.3.1
Any news yet?

i just by coincidence discovered that you CAN select a buffer from thepopup list as follows:
C - Mouse1
select the buffer you want
release the C key
and then release the mouse 1 button
strange....
(but maybe it helps for someone who understands the way events are handled in Emacs)
