Hi to all,
I have some problem to connect using adsl. I configured all parameters but I have any change to connect at boot time. Even if I use adsl-start it dosn't connect. The stange thing is I'm able to connect if I use DEBUG=1 adsl-start.
Does anyone know the reason?
Thank's

What's the error-message? How are you connected? _________________ managing a server running gentoo... |

Hi,
there is no error message, it simple doesn't connect. Im connected by ethernet-adsl (rp-pppoe) . In the net configuration I set for the interface = "up"
I tried adsl-setup, but after I couldn't connect so I configured it manually.
Now i still doesn't work:
pressing adsl-start it exits directly without message, on the other side it connects using the debug parameter |

This is some kind of weird. Is there any output in /var/log/messages related to adsl?
Dont' know anything about a debug manager...
It's even more strange that there is no output on error... _________________ managing a server running gentoo... |

in /var/log/messages I got only the following message:
gateway adsl-connect: ADSL connection lost; attempting re-connect
that's the only information I have |

In case I use "DEBUG=1 adsl-start" instead of "adsl-start" it connects correctly logging the message in /var/log/message:
Mar 26 21:26:15 gateway pppd[4234]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
Mar 26 21:26:15 gateway pppd[4234]: using channel 1
Mar 26 21:26:16 gateway pppd[4234]: Using interface ppp0
Mar 26 21:26:16 gateway pppd[4234]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
Mar 26 21:26:16 gateway pppoe[4235]: PADS: Service-Name: ''
Mar 26 21:26:16 gateway pppoe[4235]: PPP session is 15448 |
