Im pretty new to linux... i was following the instructions on getting X to work and KDE... i installed the nvidia acceleration drivers as part of it...

now when i boot i get insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.24/kernel/drivers/video/riva/rivafb.o insmod failed
a WHOLE lot of times... and some stuff about IRQ parameters

I duno why.... anyone? also i have notices some major stability problems with X and KDE... probably not 100% since this started happening as i was setting X and KDE up since i was following the walkthrough here...

thanks for any ideas :)

You really want to stick to kernel 2.4? My advice would be to give a try to 2.6 and nvidia-kernel & nvidia-glx..

No sure 2.6 will solve your matter, but it's more for the fact of recompiling your kernel. Where does it comes from? Self-made or genkernel?
