|
I've been trying, off and on, for the past day or two to get this install of gentoo up and running well enough so I can wipe out my Mandrake partition. However, I can't get Gnome, evolution, or Gaim to install.
They all bomb out with an error like this:
So, are all the servers for the code down? Do I have something ocnfigured wrong? Can I force emerge to snag the files from a different server?
Thanks. |

Try running 'emerge rsync' and then 'emerge gnome' again.

I had the same problem last nite.
I retried it this afternoon and got all the files with no problems.
BTW I found out that I had to do unmerge on Mozilla 1.0 rc to get Gnome to compile. |

Welp, emerge rsync and emerge gnome didn't help, (same error), so I guess I'll try again tomorrow in case they're just having server problems or something. |

Still no dice, I'm getting the same errors. I've emerge rsynced twice, once yesterday, once today, and I still get an Error 404 from ibiblio and Host not found from yggdrasil.
Am I missing something? Or should I try finding some Gnome RPMs or something? |

Well, I wish I'd have realized I could put the source there and have it work, but now I know.
It worked like a charm.
Thanks! |
