|
|
During the installation of gentoo i had this error when trying to copy resolv.conf to /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolv.conf:
unable to handle kernel NULL pointer reference at virtual address 00000000
printing eip
*pde = 00000000
Oops = 0000
(and so on)
Code: Bad EIP value
I thought it could be a DMA problem so i selected the boot option "ide=nodma" but nothing had changed.
So i tryied with the noapm option, since i read that apm causes problems to amd processors and nothing had changed anyway... the problem sometimes shows when i give other commands than cp resolv.conf, so i don't think it is a file-corruption problem.
Any help?
Thanks

Maybe there is no such file to copy.
If so, just create it... |

doclecter,
It looks like you have some kind of hardware issue, you might want to try and run the memtest.

I would just reboot the computer and resume where I left it... looks like overheating. |
