i cant get my sound to work! Ive reinstalled with a new (the gaming) kernel. With the gentoo-source kernel the sound worked i used the es1371 driver then! Does anyone know how who to i solve it?

If you run dmesg do you see your soundcard or an entry related to your soundcard.

Do i have to reainstall? Or can i just load the modules to the kernel? Im really bad at tjis kernel stuff

I have reinstalled with the vanilla kernel and still experience the same problem is their no one who can tell me what to do!

Need more info, are you compliing it into the kernel or is it a module?

Are you sure your not confusing the es1370 and the es1371?

Have you tired the ALSA Audio driver for your card?

You are right it might be es1371! It is after the installation so i think it is like a modul! And no i havent ried the alsa im really bad at this thing beacuse often when i have installed linux it has find the proper sounddrivers automatic!

you need to re-emerge alsa-driver probably... that's probably all. (you'll need to do that every time you compile a new kernel).
