I wonder how long it will take until a proof-of-concept virus will be released into the wild sending a FLUSH_CACHE command to jam the firmware of LG devices.
read the whole story:

mentioned time and time again, and the flaw has been worked around now - it's LG who are dicks for not conforming to the ATAPI standard. |

Calm down Lovechild.
You already reported this one as a duplicate post. There is not need to be that aggressive.

I did a search for "mandrake" and "lg" but no result popped up, so I thought to be the first one with this thread. And beside that my intention was rather to talk about the possibly of a proof-of-concept (either Windoze/Linux), intead of the fact that there was/is a problem with LG drives and probably the need of a new Gentoo kernel.
But feel free to move this thrad to the other duplicates... _________________ Do you want your posessions identified? [ynq] (n) |

I refuse to believe you searched - these two I got from 5 secs on the search page. Always search before posting such news, there's bound to be at least one post on such an issue already.

Deep breaths Lovechild, deep breaths. It's not the end of the world if someone posts a dup (you have done so yourself you know ). _________________ My tech-blog | My other blog |
