Support for appindicator in portage?

Hi,

I'm an Enlightenment user and I've just switched to e19.
This broke the systray badly and the dev team is dropping support of the xembed systray spec in e20.
As far as I understood KDE is doing this for 5.4 or something like this.

The question is how one gets app that understand and use the new appindicator spec/api?

Any help with the setup is welcome. I'm also willing to test patches to ebuilds.
