Hello!
I am thinking about installing gentoo on macbook air rev A (early 2008) and am wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction.
It's a core2duo with 2gb ram, so I'm thinking about going amd64. When would x86 be preffered?
From what I read somewhere refit is recommended? If I only want gentoo on my system grub2 should be enough right?
Also what are advantages and disadvantages of compiling a kernel with drivers inside instead of loading them as modules? I'm not going to change any hardware inside this system.
What about CFLAGS AND MAKEOPTS for this proccessor?
Thank you in advance! If you have any other tips, pointers, links or anything please do share I really want to be informed as much as possible before installing!
Also thank you for this wonderfull distribution! |
