I updated KDE to 4.14.3. Formerly, I used KWallet and there was a little icon in the system tray. After the update, the first thing I noticed was that auto-completion in my browser did not work anymore. Then I noticed that the KWallet icon in the system tray has been disappeared.

I can still start KWallet manually and copy and paste the passwords, so nothing has been lost. (Good!) But if I start the KWalletManager and check the option "Shpw password manager in system tray" and press the button "Apply" or "OK" I get the error message "Sorry, the system security policy didn't allow you to save the changes".

If I log into KDE as "root", the problem does not exist.

I searched the web for information about this problem, but did not find any useful information. Someone suggested to disable KWallet completely in order to get rid of the error message. Surely, that is not the way to go. Another hint (for ubuntu) was that the package missed to install the file /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.kde.kcontrol.kcmkwallet.conf. On my system the file exists and as far as I can judge, the content seems "sane" though I do not know what the content actually should look like.

Any ideas?

Same problem here.
What system tray do you use?
I use tint2

EDIT add more info:
Code:
killall kwalletd

killall kwalletmanager

Then restarting them worked for me.

Code:
dbus-monitor --system
Gave me no useful information.

I did get this info
Code:
kwalletmanager
QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible: No Icon set
Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
kbuildsycoca4 running...
kbuildsycoca4(10448) KBuildSycoca::checkTimestamps: checking file timestamps
kbuildsycoca4(10448) KBuildSycoca::checkTimestamps: timestamps check ok
kbuildsycoca4(10448) kdemain: Emitting notifyDatabaseChanged ()
Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
QDBusConnection: name 'org.kde.kwalletd' had owner '' but we thought it was ':1.7'

Edit2 I don't run systemd and
Code:
find / -iname '*kcmkwallet.conf'

returns no results.
