Hey all...

I'm having a problem with my latitude d800... IT runs for a random amount of time in X, then WHAM, I get weird stripes across the whole screen (sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal), and the colours start to cycle like some ugly screensaver. In fact, the first time it happened I jiggled my mouse because I thought it really WAS an ugly screensaver. Also, when I pass the kernel these parameters:

vga=0x307 video=vesa:mtrr,ywrap

the console gets corrupt at the bottom of the screen when something is scrolling by, and only comes right once the corrupt bits have reached the top of the screen. Then it starts again. If I leave out the ywrap, it's ok. It USED to work with it.

Now I've already requested a video card swapout from Dell (my 2nd in the 3 months I've had the machine) but they're only getting stock next week sometime (the joys of living in Africa), so I figured I'd do my homework while I waited.

Anyone got any words of wisdom to share with me? I'd REALLY appreciate it.
