I don't know what the hell to do. This wifi adapter will not function right when rtl8192ce is loaded with fwlps=1. I can "modprobe -r rtl8192ce" and then "modprobe rtl8192ce fwlps=0" It doesn't make a difference. It doesn't actually change the value.
Either the firmware needs to be fixed, or this driver should be removed from the kernel. It's a total peice of shit.
I'm so pissed and upset right now. I've spent hours on this.
If anybody can think of something I can do, I'd sure use your help right now. |

I -do not- want to have a freakin wifi adapter sticking out of my laptop, but that's probably what I'm gonna have to do. Do you guys have any suggestions on a wifi adapter I can get that actually has working drivers? Prefereably one that the drivers are -actually- open source. I don't want to deal with proprietary binary junk that can't be fixed.
Also where can I go to throw a fit about this firmware that it'll actually be heard by someone that counts? |

I wonder, does ndiswrapper work with recent kernels?
I'm just thinking that maybe the windows driver will work better than the stock driver. I know it uses exactly the same firmware, but since the windows driver works properly with that firmware, maybe ndiswrapper would do the trick? |
