Hello guys I'm having this (quite big) problem.
My PC can't recognize my LUKS encrypted usb device.
Code: |
# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdb1 usb
/dev/sdb1 is not a valid LUKS device. |
This is the dmesg output:
Code: | [ 1244.163749] sd 12:0:0:1: [sdb] 245504 512-byte logical blocks: (125 MB/119 MiB)
[ 1244.164649] sd 12:0:0:1: [sdb] Write Protect is off
[ 1244.164657] sd 12:0:0:1: [sdb] Mode Sense: 23 00 00 00
[ 1244.165576] sd 12:0:0:1: [sdb] Write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA
[ 1244.181854] sdb: sdb1
[ 1244.186993] sd 12:0:0:1: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk
|
Furthermore, the device DOES NOT show up in blkid output.
And, finally, this is my kernel config: http://pastebin.com/ng6M9x1V
It has to be noticed that my USB device WORKS on another PC running Kubuntu.
Thank you very much! |

I answer myself: my USB device used GPT while I didn't have it compiled in my kernel. Solved! |
