Howdy folks.
I've been using gentoo for almost 5 weeks now (and I love it), and it was working fine, until I tried to use my burner...I neglected to select SCSI emulation when building my Kernel...so I recompiled, because CDRecord needs SCSI emulation.

Up until that point, I had the sound working perfectly -- like a charm. However, once I rebuilt my kernel, it stopped working properly (this is after I re-emerged the emu10k1 module), and now is requiring that I open up Aumix and change the volume before it works - even when the volume is already at maximum (all of the ones relevant to CD-audio and game audio, anyways).

So, does anyone have any workarounds/solutions for this problem? Should I be passing a parameter to the module when I load it?

Thanks in advance!

why don't you compile emu10k1 in the kernel instead of making a module ??

You can save aumix to /etc/aumixrc and rc-update add aumix default to load your setting on startup and save on shutdown.
