I've got a Sun Fire T1000 that I'm trying to install Gentoo on. I'm netbooting the TFTP image at http://distfiles.gentoo.org/experimental/sparc/tftpboot/sparc64/gentoo-sparc64-20100413.tftpboot and it boots up on the server just fine. I can connect it to the network and SSH in, but it's not detecting the 4TB hard drive. It's a HGST Deskstar 4TB 7k4000, and I can't see any hard drive-related devices in the /dev directory. When I run dmesg, I can see the Fusion MPT drivers getting loaded
Code: |
<6>Fusion MPT base driver 3.04.12
<6>Copyright (c) 1999-2008 LSI Corporation
<6>Fusion MPT SPI Host driver 3.04.12
|
but I don't see anything about SDs or HDs. How can I get the netboot image to detect the hard drive?[/code] |

All cables (SAS or SATA and power for the HDD) are ok and connected? |

Update: I pulled out the hard drive and installed Gentoo via an emulator running on my laptop. It took forever, but everything's working now.
Jaglover: Apparently, it can support 4TB drives! |
