Hello, i am new to the forum and Gentoo Linux in general, and i am apparently at the end of the x86 Installation Handbook, but haven't perfectly followed every step as the installation cd won't let me operate on my USB hard disk, so i installed Gentoo from a working Ubuntu installation, and after screwing around with GRUB and recompiling the kernel countless times i finally got it to boot, but i am unable to connect to the internet, having tried the following command:
Code: | #ping -c 3 www.google.com
unknown host (... or something like that, i can't remember) |
I also have pasted on http://kmuto.jp/debian/hcl/ the output of the 'lspci -n' command and activated the driver options in the make menuconfig dialog, among which there is one that clearly states "Atheros AR816x Drivers". Finally i ran the ifconfig command and no device other than lo is shown, and i don't know how to make it work anymore.
Here is my menuconfig file: http://pastebin.com/65xkxXtR
Cheers, Glitched. |
