|
|
I'm having issues getting my Fujitsu fi-6130 scanner to work. On a 32-bit Gentoo installation, everything works fine. This is a different computer on a 64-bit computer where I'm having trouble.
When I run xsane, I receive the message:
Code: | Failed to open device `fujitsu:fi-6130dj:106822':
Error during device I/O |
It is recognized by the computer under dmesg:
Code: | [15343.933202] usb 3-6: USB disconnect, device number 4
[15347.241897] usb 3-6: new high-speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd
[15347.388093] usb 3-6: New USB device found, idVendor=04c5, idProduct=114f
[15347.388095] usb 3-6: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0
[15347.388237] usb 3-6: ep 0x81 - rounding interval to 128 microframes, ep desc says 255 microframes
[15347.388239] usb 3-6: ep 0x2 - rounding interval to 128 microframes, ep desc says 255 microframes
|
It's also recognized by sane-find-scanner:
Code: |
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
# result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
# scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.
# No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
# you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.
# Also you need support for SCSI Generic (sg) in your operating system.
# If using Linux, try "modprobe sg".
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04c5, product=0x114f) at libusb:003:005
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.
# Not checking for parallel port scanners.
# Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports
# can't be detected by this program. |
However, it is not recognized by scanimage -L
Code: | No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages). |

Finally, I am in the scanner group and the above also does not change when running as root.
Thanks for the help.

What's really odd is that if I unplug the scanner and then plug it in, scanimage -L works on the first run:
Code: | device `fujitsu:fi-6130dj:106822' is a FUJITSU fi-6130dj scanner |
However, if I run scanimage -L a second time, I receive
Code: | $ scanimage -L
No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages). |
The only difference between the verbose output (SANE_DEBUG_DLL=128 scanimage -L) between the two is the final message and
Code: | [dll] sane_get_devices: found 0 devices |
Code: | [dll] sane_get_devices: found 1 devices |
|

Also, if it helps, here's the primary difference in the strace of the scanimage -L that works:

There are a couple of more sections like this, but they're pretty similar in their differences. |
