While recently experiencing a few problems with some software, I booted into plain old x windows to try and see if it was a wm problem (which is wasn't), and thats where the problem started. I began to fall in love with the ugliness and moreover plain usefullness of it, I'm now considering ditching my kahakai and its eye-candy lovliness to use it full time. Am I the only one to feel like this? _________________ Bunder for president ^o^ |

I sort of understand you.
Sometimes i think about dropping kde an switch back to good old fvwm2 which should be flying on my box (1 GHZ P-III). It is beautiful enough for me doing only C-development on this box.
But then i drop the idea since i do use some of the kde-progs (konq, kate, khexedit) but only a small percentage of them. For me it's tempting to switch back to the good old times without all that bloat.

If you have to ask, the answer is likely to be yes. |

I abhor ugliness. No, I don't have any mirrors in my house. _________________ Want Free games?

If you ask 'am I insane?', you are not. Insane people answer their own questions. |

You want ugly? Try any of twm, mwm(!) or fvwm without configuring anything.
Want ugly and functional? Try some UNIX with CDE. _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |

My brother uses it exclusively.
(He had meningitis when he was 5. That might explain his preferences.) |

Alright, I have managed to tear myself away from it back to kahakai, but I think I shall use it as a security blanket from now on, every time things start to get complicated or slow (computer wise) I'll slink back to it and wallow in simplicity for a time. _________________ Bunder for president ^o^ |
