|

Hi,
once in a while (3 times in a month), starting up my net interface caused reboots. And the problem would happen again and again until I shutdown the machine for a little while and retried after. (just a reboot wouldn't make it go away).
When starting my net interface, I would see:
Code: |
* Bringing up interface wlp3s0
* Caching network module dependencies
need firewalld
need dbus
* Starting wpa_supplicant on wlp3s0. <--- this line wouldn't appear and then it would reboot within 2 or 3 seconds |
Wifi device:
Code: | 03:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8192CE PCIe Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) |
Unfortunately, nothing in dmesg or in other logs !
(i specifically ran the net interface startup while tailing and teeing those logs but i didn't get anything) |

Is that device an extension card plugged into a PCIe slot? If yes - well, sounds stupid, but is it correctly inserted? _________________ Egal was Du kochst: Karl Marx. |

Yes it is, and it is correctly installed. I might try changing the slot though.
What really surprises me is that i can let it reboot automatically 4, 5, times in a row, it will still be making the machine rebooting when starting up.
If i switch the machine off for 2 minutes, and try again, it's fine ! (i had this sequence several times) |
