|
|
I followed the installation guide to the letter (had a few issues using fdisk but got help from the IRC channel).
When I reboot the system, it just comes up with the GRUB command line and that's it.
Am I missing something ?
I started with stage 3 but I did a emerge rsync and was told that it shouldnt matter ...
Any ideas ? |

Sikosis, try doing this to get you into your gentoo environment anyway. Put in your gentoo disk and boot from it, at the prompt do this:
Kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hda3
Where the /dev/hda3 is change it to your root partition, you may can do it from grub commandline but am not sure as I use a bootdisk I made to boot my gentoo. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

I've done that ... it's now stuck:-
Kernal panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
I think I'll try reinstalling from scratch ... though if i have no success again, i won't be trying a third time. |
