I would be nice if Gentoo release official OpenStack image. _________________ "What stands in the way becomes the way." -- Marcus Aurelius |

I would very much welcome this as well
I found some guides by googling "gentoo openstack" or other related queries, but even the guides seem to be mostly concentrated on how you run openstack on Gentoo, rather than use a Gentoo image on an openstack infrastructure... _________________ Check out my initiative to bring Neuroscience software to Gentoo - NeuroGentoo! |

I would be interested too.
It's better to report a ticket for this kind of request I think. Now done : https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=548786
Not sure that will be done soon though. |

For information, I found one online: http://blog.condi.me/base/
I have been using it for three months. It is not perfect, but it is working quite well. |

Interesting, thanks.
I've added the link to the ticket, it really is the best place for this kind of information. |

I'm working on an unofficial project right now and I'll have it up on github in the next day or two that essentially automatically builds an openstack compatible image for you. All you'll need is a host with kvm and a few other tools and run a couple commands. |

I don't know about promising but it works well for me. Definitely not production ready but it's a solid start.

I won't be monitoring this thread but I will be monitoring feedback via the bug or github. Thanks! |

OK, quick follow-up. I've updated the project to the point that I'd consider an image it produces to be 'gold' worthy. I'd recommend giving it a try at this point.
If someone knows a decent place to host a file I'd be happy to upload an image I've created for immediate download. |
