|
|
Hi,
I'm the founder of #gentoo-help, a low-bandwidth help channel on irc.freenode.net. We have about 10 regulars in the #gentoo-help channel now, the channel has been active for quite some time, about 4 or 5 months.
Is there anyone who knows how I can get #gentoo-help added to the official gentoo irc list of channels on the web site? I think it would be great if we can get some more people in #gentoo-help.
So far, it's mainly newbies asking questions, and gentoo veterans helping them.
If anyone has any ideas on getting the channel on the official irc list, email me at motiv8x@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Maybe we should connect #gentoo-help and the
GentooKernelAndHardwareWiki by cross-linking them ....
What do you think

I think it sounds like a good idea.
#gentoo is chaos
It would be nice to see people getting help on one channel, discussing things on another _________________ Gentoo/AMD64, shell-tools, net-mail, vim, recruiters

For it to be on the official list, it needs to be owned by a developer (and for general purpose channels, a manager is better).
I don't think we want it to be an official channel anyway; there's no point in fragmenting support channels. #gentoo is a general purpose help channel, we don't need another - of course, if users want to run unofficial low-bandwidth support channels, that's entirely up to them. |
