Hi,
I've been trying to subscribe to the gentoo-user mailing list but I am not getting any response from the ezmlm to confirm. I'm sending mails to gentoo-user-subscribe@gentoo.org. I was subscribed in the past and removed myself; now I want to subscribe again. Any ideas?
TIA,
Elvis (a.k.a: Chris) |

Finally figured out what was going on.
It seems ezmlm wants to send the confirmation message back to the smtp server that originated the subscribe message instead of to the mailbox. I normally use the smtp server my ISP provides because it's faster. Hence I was never receiving a confirmation. |

Just to follow up on this, ezmlm sends the reply to whatever the Return-Path header is set to. It does not care what SMTP server you use.

The moment I changed from my ISP's SMTP server to the SMTP associated to my POP account, everything worked. So there is something there. |

Yes. The return-path header.
