i have ehci ohci uhci to allow usb 2 to usb 1.1 fallback.

first of all when i start the computer or restarting coldplug i get:
Code:
/etc/init.d/coldplug restart

hey dmind,

I think I may have a similar problem - though I don't recall any chown/chmod errors on coldplugging usb devices.

A usb soundcard I've got doesn't like to run when it's plugged in on boot - it even stops my pci soundcard from working though which is strange.

I think there is a way to get coldplug to ignore some devices, which is what I hope to do. Perhaps if you got it to ignore the device that's causing that problem then it'd be left for hotplug to take care of? hmmmm or maybe hotplug will ignore it because it doesn't get called being already plugged in...

Will let you know if I think of anything else.

Cheers,

Alan.
