I installed ppp and rp-pppoe during the install, and it worked great, had a successful install, but after I rebooted I couldn't connect with adsl-start or adsl-connect. It gives me this error message when I run adsl-connect:

Couldn't set tty to PPP discipline: Invalid argument
pppoe: read (asyncReadFromPPP): Session 63422: Input/output error

How do I fix this?

I fixed it. Silly me didn't compile async into the kernel
