I saw a thread a few days back on the problems people where anticipating with the ibook g4 - untested support for the Radion 9200, and the complete lack of drivers for the 802.11g card.
Has anyone gotten one up and running with X11 and wireless(old card or USB adaptor)?
I am on the verge of buying an ibook g3 900 to avoid problems, but I sure would like the G4 (even if just to play with Panther for a while).
Thanks |

Airport Extreme and Airport have different sockets so you can't use a Linux supported wireless card in any current Apple Laptop now.
There is a USB 802.11b adapter which should work I imagine. I've heard people mention them.
As for Radeon 9200 the xfree-dri should support it in 2d and I would imagine the radeon framebuffer on a 2.6 kernel should also work. |
