At my tinderbox I'm facing sometimes with a somehow b0rken vim installation.
IF I start vi, I do either see nothing of the file - but can quit it with ":wq" - or I do see an error message like: Code: | / # vim /etc/portage/make.conf
Error detected while processing /usr/share/vim/vimfiles/plugin/curcmdmode.vim:
line 121:
E117: Unknown function: MapAppendCascaded
line 123:
E117: Unknown function: MapAppendCascaded
line 125:
E117: Unknown function: MapAppendCascadedPress ENTER or type command to continue
| /me wonders, how to fix this. |

I'm not familiar with curcmdmode package, or any other addon packages for vim to be the most knowledgeable. What I did find from a quick search (judging by that the git source code), MapAppendCascaded function is supposedly from the app-vim/genutils package. Maybe try reinstalling that package, see if it helps you? |
