Hail comrades,

I recently killed off my Arch Linux install and installed Gentoo. It's not a bad setup so far and I'm really digging how much customization I have. So I'm finally at the point where I can look into a desktop environment or window manager, and I really liked the look of Elementary OS.

I'm trying to follow this guide: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Pantheon

Here's what I've done so far~

1. Installed layman, updated it, added elementary and updated it again.
2. Keyworded ~amd64
3. cd /etc/portage/package.mask/ and ln -s /var/lib/layman/elementary/profiles/elementary.mask elementary
4. Have tried to echo dependencies to /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords but have noticed not all of them went over
5. X is enabled as a global use flag
6. I'm confused about how to add in information to /etc/portage/package.use ...
7 emerge --ask pantheon-base/pantheon cannot find the package
8. So then I try emerge --ask pantheon-base/pantheon-shell and it tells me I need a systemd flag for a circular dependency problem, and it seems to fail saying something about a blocked package. I'm not able to scroll to see which package has failed using shift+page up. If Pantheon requires systemd... maybe I'll look into a different environment.

From what I've read, once I get that, the pantheon-files package, and pantheon-greeter going, I can edit a certain conf file to make gentoo go to the greeter automatically and I'll be rolling on Pantheon! But unfortunately I'm too inexperienced with Gentoo and I'm obviously screwing up.

I would appreciate any help.

@kernelOfTruth

Hi, I have installed pantheon by following the steps on the pantheon wiki page, but how can I start it?
I tried systemctl start lightdm.target(or lightdm.service, my PC is not at hand), but failed.
The video card driven is OK.

Did I miss any more steps?
