HI,
I've just built the 2.6 test 9 kernel and included alsa and ppp as I usually would.
When I boot into it, I am unable to get sound working nor am I able to get the modem to work.
The error pretty much says :
/dev/dsp does not exist
/dev/modem does not exist
I know they both exist!! I can see them!!
When I ls:
/dev/dsp -> /dev/dsp0
/dev/modem -> /dev/ttyS0
I am root and permissions seem fine.
Anyone have any ideas? _________________ [LRU] |

In case you have compiled ALSA as modules make sure to load the
appropriate ones, in my case this would be
snd-pcm-oss
snd-intel8x0
As to your modem: are you sure that your modem is at
/dev/ttyS0 and not /dev/ttySL0, i.e. make sure that /dev/modem
points to the correct device!? |
