I have not broadbond internrt conaction at home but i have it in my univesity. I have downloaded all files form distfiles directory on ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/ and how can i build Gentoo from this files. l want to start with stage 1.
Help me please |

If you put the files in /usr/portage/distfiles and then install normally the only thing you need net connection for is the emerge sync phase. If a package is found in the distfiles directory, portage automatically skips the download. (at least with my already installed system - haven't tried installing from scratch without network connection) _________________ I do speak more freely if I get free beer... |

hello.
you can follow the installation guide,the only differents steps are for emerge sync, where you must download and use snapshot of the portage tree, instead of emerge sync.also you'll need to put the files from distfiles in /usr/portage/distfiles. _________________ every step aim at glory. |
