Anyone else noticing surges of very slow response time from the forums? I don't seem to have problems with other sites, so it isn't my connection entirely. Could certainly be a broader reaching issue though. Also, I sometimes receive an wll white page with this error: Quote: | phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database | Only when the 'slowness' is happening though, and not always. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I've seen the same thing once today, and it's mentioned here, too. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I'll make an appointment with an optometrist... I promise
I completely didn't see that one. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I haven't noticed the problem myself, but I'll poke around and see what I can find. We've been tweaking the server to try and reduce the CPU load. Perhaps we tweaked something the wrong way.

Just a followup, speed seems much quicker today, though I did receive the phpBB error once. No major slowdowns since. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Not to beat a dead horse, but my previous update may have been premature. After I posted it, I did see the error 1 or 2 more times. Also, the forums still seem sluggish, though sporadically. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Well guys, I beefed up MySQL a little. Should be resolved. Heh, *should*. Anywho, I was on vacation and just got back and wouldn't have seen your problem if klieber hadn't said something to me. If something critical happens like that again, feel free to PM or email me with as much info as you can dig up, this also includes stuff like high ping times, routing problems and what not. This way it won't get overlooked.
I came home to 7075+ emails. Wow. I think I'm subscribed to a few too many mailing lists. _________________ - Kyle Manna

My main point was to see how widespread a problem it was initially. Once a 'mod' piped in, I figured that would be good enough to relay a potential problem. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Bumping this thread. We think we've fixed the database errors that people were seeing. If anyone gets that error again, can you please send me a PM and post a message here?
Thanks.
