Hello!
Ever since I switched to KF5, I have a small but persistently annoying issue:
kde-misc/kshutdown-3.2:4 is not minimizing to the tray, but instead closing completely. Also it gets started maximized (not in tray) on every boot. If I close it then and open it again, it will open in tray only, just as expected.

Plasma 5 removes support for legacy system tray protocols. We have some documentation about this, but the quickfix for kshutdown is to install dev-libs/sni-qt.

Ah ok, thanks. That seems to work. I also stumbled upon a message, that not having kdebase-runtime-meta installed is unsupported. It pulled a couple of packages in but I can't notice any difference. Is it really neccesary?

Not necessarily. Historically, we assumed that a certain set of packages (kdebase-runtime-meta) had to be installed to have a "valid" KDE environment as it was difficult to figure out exactly which bits any given KDE package strictly required. Nowadays, things are a lot more modular so it's easier to have individual packages depend on exactly what they need and avoid messages like that.

Installing dev-libs/sni-qt didn't fix it for good. If I am logging out and restart my session, kshutdown is maximized again. Even after starting wioth a clean, new session this happens after I set back the options to restore session.
Kshutdown will only minimize to tray if I "x" the maximized window, so it quits and then open kshutdown again. Then it will be minimized to tray. Any further suggestions on this?
