well, I installed mm-sources during install and compiled and such, and it all went off without a hitch. I installed radeon for DRI as a module, and then later recompiled the bzimage so that I could have dev support. I did an emerge xfree and dicked around away from my computer during the compile. I then powered down and went to sleep for a while, and then powered up and ran startx and got a series of errors about there not being enought ptys. I was wondering, how shoild i compile my kernel to get X to work? any help would be appreciated. |
