Hi,
I am using a Netgear MA101 Rev. B adapter and I was able to get it work with GRP 1.4 using atmel drivers. Once I got the base system working I downloaded the latest portage and did a world update. After this I installed xfree. All this from stable branch. I downloaded ck-sources and compiled it after tweaking things like processor, removing ehci & uhci for usb, as my controller is ohci, enabling nvidia agpgart etc. i did an etc-update and merged the config files manually. I took care not to overwite files like fstab, network configuration file (the one that let's you specify dhcp option).
Now when I plug my wireless adapter the proper driver gets loaded and dmesg shows eth0 getting intialized and registered. But the dhcp simply doesn't work. I tried "dhcpd eth0" it just hangs.
I'm kinda struck here and have no idea on what to do. I fiddles around looking for any configuration problems but no luck. The adapter works well in mandrake with 2.4.22 kernel.
Any suggetsions would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Venkat. |
