i've installed the mm-sources, created and mounted the /sys filesystem, and done what i used to do with 2.4 kernels. the problem is that xterm doesn't even start under gnome/fluxbox and gnome terminal starts, but i can't do anything with that (blinking cursor, that's all i get, no way to have the prompt)
why's that? 2.6 looks pretty fast, but no console, no linux!

| are you compiling PTY into the kernel, this chnaged from 2.4.x to 2.6.x/2.6, check out the text displayed at the end of the emerge, you can just edit /usr/portage/sys-kernel/mm-sources/mm-sources-2.6.0_beta9-r1.ebuild and look at the bottom. |
