fat32 partition as user

Hello, ok i have got my fat32 partitions mounted, however i get not access them as user.

In console as root i can enter and see content of partition, the partitions also appear on gnome desktop as user when mount -a is used.

When i try and view partiton in nautilus i get error:

The action associated with "System Volume Information" is invalid.

You can configure GNOME to associate a different application or viewer with this file type. Do you want to associate an application or viewer with this file type now?

my fstab for fat partitons is thus:

/dev/hda2 /mnt/fat32 vfat noatime,users 0 0
/dev/hda5 /mnt/ghost vfat noatime,users 0 0
/dev/hda6 /mnt/data vfat user,uid=root,gid=users,umask=300 0 0

note i have tried different seeting on last partition but no joy.

the /mnt/dirs are set to 755, every tried chown root:users on one but still no joy.

any ideas
