Today I've updated xorg to version 1.17. Everything seems to be working, except for video support in Skype. The camera itself seems to be OK. At least it is accessible from Cheese. In Skype it just shows black screen on first attempt to use it. On the second attempt, the X server crashes and leaves behind following trace in the log

Anyone else expiriences something like that? My camera uses uvcvideo driver. There is nothing special in the /var/log/messages, except for message "kernel: uvcvideo: Failed to query (GET_DEF) UVC control 13 on unit 1: -32 (exp. 8 )". But it seems to be harmlos. I'm using fglrx video drivers. Skype is running in 32bit chroot. Chroot has the same version of libraries as the 64-bit platform (updated on the same day)
Edit. I've tried to run guvcview program under 64-bit and it failed the same way as skype does. So this problem is not related to skype. It has something to do with support of usb cameras in xorg. |

The problem looks to me like a bug in the fglrx driver.
I don't know if guvcview or skype can be switched between xv or opengl, but you can try
whether you see the same bug there.
Other values for -vo you can try are listed by |
