Hello, I putted a dvd-rw in my dvd recorder and realized that nothing happened (Didn't mount it as should happen and does happen with other dvd)
So I entered a dvd+rw-mediainfo, and after several minutes of waiting, that was the all the output:
Quote: | INQUIRY: [HL-DT-ST][DVD-RAM GSA-H60L][R90C]

Write Speed #0: 4.0x1385=5540KB/s
Write Speed #1: 2.0x1385=2770KB/s
READ DVD STRUCTURE[#10h]:

READ DVD STRUCTURE[#0h]:
Media Book Type: 33h, DVD-RW book [revision 3]
Last border-out at: 2045*2KB=4188160
:-[ READ DISC INFORMATION failed with SK=3h/UNABLE TO RECOVER TABLE-OF-CONTENTS]: Input/output error |
That means as I expect that this dvd is with problem?
Thanks for all the effort. |

cleiton-xavier,
Welcome to Gentoo.
Code: | [ READ DISC INFORMATION failed with SK=3h/UNABLE TO RECOVER TABLE-OF-CONTENTS]: Input/output error |
Means that this DVD-RW and this DVD device don't want to work together.
You may find that ejecting the DVD and reloading it helps. This will give the drive another go at centring the DVD.
Look at the inside data tracks - are they dirty or scratched?
Even now, not all DVD media works in all drives.
It may work in the drive used to write the DVD. If it won't work there, that's a really bad sign.
If you need to recover the data, try several drives and ddrescue. _________________ Regards,

Thanks for the welcome
I forgot to add that this dvd was a blank disc that I purchased not long ago and it was working fine. It's surface indeed has several risks.
I don't have any relevant information on it, so it appears to be better to give up of it. |
