Minicom segfault

I'm trying to install a linux distro on my sparcstation.
On the sparc side everything goes fine.

I'm using my gentoo box as a bootserver for it and using minicom for working with the sparc through a serial console.
When it boots, the ncurses installation menu appears.
After a while (a few seconds) Minicom always segfaults.

I'm using minicom 2.0, terminal emulation is VT-102, serial port setting is 9600 8N1.

I suppose I could try to netboot gentoo but the gentoo sparc image for netboot doesn't support serial console...
