Hola,
tengo una ATi Sapphire 9500 Atlantis de 128 Mbs y he instalado los ati-drivers para poder activar la aceleración en OpenGL y jugar a algún juego en Gentoo.
Pero me he encontrado con algunos problemas, mientras un amigo con mi misma tarjeta saca 2000 y pico FPS con Glxgears, yo no llego a 600.
Por lo visto no carga el módulo Fglrx (encargado de la aceleración) ya que me da error.

El error que me sale en dmesg es ->

¿Puede ser alguna incompatibilidad con mi Placa Base quizá?
Mi placa es una Asus a7n8x Deluxe rev. 2.0 (chipset nforce2).

Tienes que recompilar el kernel quitandole todo lo de drm. El problema es que te carga antes los modulos del kernel y entonces no te deja cargar el fglrx despues.
Editado: Despues de recompilar el kernel necesitaras reemerger los ati-drivers.

¿Con DRM te refieres a "Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 DRI Support)?
Porque no la tengo incluida

Pues si, me referia a eso por que a mi me ocurrio, pero si lo tienes desactivado, pos no se :/

tienes instalado el xfree-drm (si es asi quitalo)? has ejecutado el /opt/ati/bin/flxsetup o como se llame?
ejecutado -> opengl-update ati ?
