I am using an ibook 500mhz and pbbuttonsd (emulating pmud) added boot level and i got a strange problem. When i boot my computer i hear no sound. I then enter Fluxbox, still no sound, and then close the lid on my ibook. I wait 2 seconds and then i open the lid. After that little procedure the sound works perfect.
In persue of finding the error i installed root-tail. But i haven't found anything strange. It could be something with "Audio jack unplugged, enabling speakers" but that doesn't make sense. Is the "Audion jack plugged in" as default when i start?
I have ruled out pbbuttonsd as beeing the source of problem due to the fact that my cd-eject works as mapped in pbbuttonsd before i close to lid.
I have checked that pbbuttonsd is running.
I read something about adding "lid-open wakeup" in X11/xresourses but i don't understand that part.....

I had this problem once with one of the older gentoo-ppc-kernels. Don't know what version this was. With the benh-ppc kernels I had no problems. Which kernel do you use. And do you use OSS or ALSA? |

I am using Kernel 2.4.21-ppc-r2 and using OSS for the sound. The sound works perfect so i see no reason for switching to Alsa but maybe i will do that when i upgrade my kernel to 2.6. _________________ Petfrogg
