|
|
I managed to get my RAID drives to work while in the live cd.
I mounted them and they worked perfectly at /dev/sda(1-4)
I added the ft3xx.o module to
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r8/kernel/drivers/scsi
as Zerx said in another thread.
Then added scsi_mod and ft3xx to my "modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4"
but after my reboot I just get a kernel panic "VFS: cannot open root device "804" or 08:04...
What did I do wrong?
I use lilo and my WinXP loads of /dev/sda1 without any problems.
I think the module isn't really found by the kernel at boot but how can I correctly add it or build it "into" the kernel?
I hope somebody can help me ![Sad :(](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |

I never tryed this myself, so you have to do the digging, but afaik you have to make a initrd bootimage which contains the module, so the kernel knows about the module at boot time... this should solve your problem... |
