I would like to install gentoo on a Compaq Presario 1215 EA. This laptop has an AMD Athlon 4 processor. Which disk set should I use? Gentoo Linux 1.4 for Athlon XP? The description is a little bit confusing, and I don't want to mess up from the beginning ;)
Thanks for answering. |

Your AMD Athlon 4 (Palomino) is one step _under_ Athlon XP. This means that you sould NOT use the Athlon XP one... |

It would be a good idea as the following flags:
CHOST="-mcpu=i686 -O3 -pipe"
are the less aggressive but still most efficient and compatible. So use i686, that'll do. |
