which module is the correct one for my network card, i have a Asus Nvidia nforce 2 a7n266 motherboard.

the nForce2 chipset as a built in network card.
You need to emerge nforce-net

Your motherboards Ethernet card is built into the nForce2 chip on which it is based.

The driver is obtained and installed by issuing the command
Code:
emerge nforce-net
as root.
However, this requires a working network connection to download an assortment of files. A modem will be OK.
To make the module load at boot, edit /etc/modules.autolaod and add the line
Code:
 nvnet


edit : that should be autoload
