skullcia,
the nForce2 chipset as a built in network card.
You need to emerge nforce-net

skullcia,
Your motherboards Ethernet card is built into the nForce2 chip on which it is based.
The driver is obtained and installed by issuing the command
as root.
However, this requires a working network connection to download an assortment of files. A modem will be OK.
To make the module load at boot, edit /etc/modules.autolaod and add the line
edit : that should be autoload
