when i fisrt installed gentoo ths /etc/init.d/net file was there now after an
# emerge sync
and
#emerge -u system
and
#emerge kde
it has gone and now my eth0 will not DHCP at boot anymore.
I can manually
#dhcpd eth0
the card and it works but why does it not start on boot?
is it because this file is missing?

And I believe you want to set iface_eth0="dhcp" in /etc/conf.d/net. |

yeah i have created a new sorry /etc/init.d/net file and added the iface="dhcp" and it still does not load at boot??? |
