when i fisrt installed gentoo ths /etc/init.d/net file was there now after an

# emerge sync

and

#emerge -u system

and

#emerge kde

it has gone and now my eth0 will not DHCP at boot anymore.

I can manually

#dhcpd eth0

the card and it works but why does it not start on boot?

is it because this file is missing?

Thanks,

Tom

And I believe you want to set iface_eth0="dhcp" in /etc/conf.d/net.
