I did a search and read the above post.
Where do I download the ISO for the 2.6 kernel and in the thread no one was sure if that was the best download for a stage 1 install.
anyone have an opinion or a link to the ISO?
thanks? _________________ Abit KD7-S

The 2.6 kernels can be found here: http://www.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo/experimental/
The only problem I've heard about with the 2.6 live cds is there scsi recognition. If you have standard ide drives, then there should be no problem running the 2.6 kernel. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

The standard install guide will work fine. Just take extra care when configuring and compiling the kernel. Most of the options aren't as they are listed in the install guide. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

OOPS....
are you talking compile flags or use flags because I really worked them over!
If I have to redo something I would like to know as soon as I could.
I am bootstrapping right now so I hope to be done sometime soon.
