Ok,
so I've never been a big mac fan because I've always found mac OS slow and unresponsive. I inherited a g4 powerbook though and have been using 10.2 on it for about 4 months. Normally I would just rdesktop to my winxp machine because I find windows over a terminal server more usable/snappy than mac os. (this is a 667 mhz g4). Well it took around 20 hours to install gentoo on it, gnome 1.4 and mozilla... and I love it. This is way faster feeling than my p4 1.4 ghz laptop running xp and redhat. I love it!
thank you gentoo! |

Inherited a G4 powerbook? Lucky %%$£^!!!! ;o) Last thing I inherited was a stack of old crockery...
Seriously, I've been thinking of getting a second-hand mac laptop and putting Gentoo on it. I love the design of the new ibook/powerbooks. |
