I just switched and only 3 things that I am having trouble with.
1) My internet is slower and I do not know why. I know that I selected the correct module.
2) My ALSA works great, except my PC Speaker gets no sound. It did in 2.4 but not here. It is turned up all the way. My XMMS and Xine (Dolby 5.1) work great.
3) I haven't noticed any difference in speed whatsoever. I am running a P4 1.6 w/ 512MB so maybe thats why. |

1. Your guess is as good as mine. I havent noticed any change in network performance.
2. PC speaker is a module now (thankfully!) and you have to enable it. Also, do you find alsa to be much slower than oss?
3. If you were running a kernel with preempt before (gentoo-sources, for example) you wont notice much of a difference unless you are on an SMP machine. _________________ --
